Manning doubles up to sink Scotland

Two goals from man of the match Ryan Manning and a deflected shot from Val Feeney enabled Ireland to beat Scotland at the Tallaght Stadium to finish joint-second in the Centenary Shield.

Manning (17) opened the scoring last night from a harsh penalty award nine minutes before the break.

Scotland equalised just before the hour mark when Irish midfielder Cian Kavanagh deflected Jamie Henry's free-kick into his own net.

Scotland were level for just seven minutes as Dylan Kavanagh's quickly taken corner found Limerick's Feeney, who scored with the help of a deflection.

And Galway FC's Manning secured the victory eight minutes later with his second goal.
