Second-half goals from man of the match Ronan Finn and substitute Eamon Zayed gave Sporting Fingal a comfortable win over a depleted Galway United at Morton Stadium.

The visitors, missing five regulars including goalkeeper Barry Ryan and striker Karl Sheppard, were always second best and Lorcan Fitzgerald missed a great chance to put Fingal ahead before Galway third-choice 'keeper Dara Geraghty made an excellent save to deny Ger O'Brien.

Fingal got the goal they deserved in the 53rd minute. Fitzgerald robbed Paul Sinnott and found Finn, who controlled the ball well before driving a right-footed shot home from 30 yards.

Gary Curran missed a great chance to equalise before Fingal sealed the win in the 76th minute when Zayed took a pass from Shaun Williams and cut inside before curling his shot into the top corner.
