Swedish side Ostersunds have made a bid for Derry City’s attacking winger Ronan Curtis.

The Ireland U-21 international (below) came onto their radar after impressing in the Candystripes’ recent Europa League defeat to Danish side FC Midtjylland.

And the ambitious club want to sign Curtis before their transfer window closes on Friday.

Ostersunds, who are managed by Englishman Graham Potter, are one round away from the Europa League group stages after shocking Turkey’s Galatasaray last week.

They play Greek side PAOK in the final qualifier and Curtis (21) would be cup-tied for that round if a deal went through in time.  But he would become eligible for the group stages if Ostersunds advanced.

It’s believed that Ostersunds have been in negotiations with Derry over the past week with a view to getting the deal completed for the player who was born in London but grew up in Donegal.
