A Gary McCabe double either side of a Sean O'Connor strike gave Rovers only their second away win of the season as Trevor Croly's side continued their fine form.

Having been frustrated by two class saves from Gabriel Sava, Croly made two changes to introduce Pat Sullivan and McCabe.

Three minutes after his introduction, McCabe popped up to head home from a Stephen Rice cross.

Sixty seconds later O'Connor netted from 40 yards. The win was secured on 74 minutes as McCabe completed his brace, heading past Sava from close range.

The Boynesiders' best effort came late in the first half when Peter Hynes spotted Richard Brush off his line and from just over half-way he attempted a shot which saw the 'keeper scrambling back to save.

The win extends Rovers' unbeaten run to 11 games.
