The postponed Friday night meeting of St Patrick's Athletic and Shamrock Rovers has been rescheduled for Inchicore on Monday night.

Persistent heavy rain throughout the day made the Richmond Park pitch unplayable and the decision was taken to rearrange the match as quickly as possible as the Dublin duo have a congested fixture schedule coming over the horizon.

"It's disappointing for everybody as the pitch is actually in great condition but it's just that there is water-logging on it," said Rovers boss Pat Fenlon.

"But I think it's the right decision as there are seven or eight bad patches on it. It's good to get it played as quickly as it could be as both teams have a lot of games coming up."
