The FAI Cup third-round replay between Shelbourne and St. Patrick's Athletic at Tolka Park tonight because of floodlight failure.

Bohemians will have further to wait to find out their quarter-final opponents following the equipment failure.

Tonight's match tickets will be valid for the rescheduled game, while refunds are expected to be available from Shelbourne during office hours tomorrow

It comes just a few weeks after referee Tomás Connolly called off the Airtricity League encounter between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers after deeming the pitch at Dalymount Park"unplayable" because of damage around one of the penalty spots.

“The pitch is not safe,” said Connolly afterwards after his decision was met with disbelief.

“I am not an expert on ground but in its current state it’s not possible to play a match due to player safety. That is my main concern and that’s why the match was called off.”

Rovers manager Pat Fenlon described the episode as a ‘disaster’ for the league but stressed that it was down to Connolly to make the call.
