Last year's Rovers player of the year Miele fired home a free kick in the 42nd minute in a match that saw two players sent off for Sligo in a fiery encounter.

Kieran Sadlier was first to go on the stoke of half-time for a stamp in Killian Brennan before Craig Rodden was dismissed following an elbow on Gary McCabe 15 minutes from time.

Danny North secured the three points late on when he finished past Sligo keeper Micheal Schlingermann.
