Shamrock Rovers burst Bray’s bubble to stay unbeaten in the top-flight this season.
Former Irish international Keith Fahey returned from suspension to set up two goals in five second-half minutes at the Carlisle Grounds last night.
The Wicklow side had been undefeated in three games under caretaker first team coach Maciej Tarnogrodzki.
But Michael Drennan’s sixth goal of the season, coupled with Ryan Brennan and Maxime Blanchard’s first scores of the campaign, brought Bray back to reality.
Premier Division top-scorer Drennan broke the deadlock in the 31st minute.
Moments after scuffing a chance, he headed in Brandon Miel’s cross after Simon Madden and Fahey had linked on the ring flank.
Fahey then took centre stage. His 56th-minute free was nodded in by Brennan.
Just four minutes later, Fahey’s corner was steered in by Blanchard’s bullet front post header.
Hoops boss Pat Fenlon will also be happy that his side registered a seventh clean sheet in their nine league games to date.
