Finn Harps chalked up another battling home win last night as Dave Scully sank former club Bray Wanderers in Ballybofey.

Scully's ninth-minute goal was enough for Ollie Horgan's men.

Sean Houston's powerful surge created the opportunity. Houston fed Ryan Curran, whose low cross was turned home from close range by Scully.

Seconds beforehand, Bray appealed for a penalty when Dylan Connolly went down under Packie Mailey's challenge, but referee Ray Matthews waved play on and Houston broke to set the wheels in motion for the opener.

Another ex-Bray man, Adam Hanlon, was denied a brilliant second. A wonderful, swerving effort was destined for the top corner, but Peter Cherrie turned it over the top.

Bray's Robbie Creevy headed wide with the visitors' best chance and Harps held out under pressure late on.
