Mark Quigley salvaged a point for Bohs as Wexford Youths paid a cruel late penalty. Gary Delaney looked to have given Youths no more than they deserved at Dalymount Park: their first ever Premier Division win.

Bohs failed to deal with Craig McCabe’s long throw and central defender Delaney ended a scramble by heading over the line to put Youths 3-2 up with ten minutes to go.

But a rash foul by Danny Ledwith on Roberto Lopes got Bohs out of jail on 88 minutes.

Youths keeper Graham Doyle got a strong hand to Quigley’s spot-kick, pushing it onto a post, but the ball spun into the net.

Bohs keeper Dean Delany had taken down Paul Murphy to concede a penalty which Danny Furlong converted to give Youths a ninth-minute lead. Quigley headed home Ayman Ben Mohamed’s super cross to level two minutes later.

But further poor defending saw Bohs ship a second goal on 20 minutes, Chris Kenny heading in from Craig McCabe’s long throw.

It was end-to-end stuff, and Bohs should have levelled again within a minute.

Quigley threaded a ball through for strike partner Kurtis Byrne, who contrived to blast wide when he should have scored.

Furlong then had a chance to extend Youths’ lead eight minutes later, volleying wide with only Delany to beat.

Bohs were level right on half-time, though, when Paddy Kavanagh drove a stunning shot to the net.
