Quigley own goal downs Drogs
Drogheda United 0 Bray Wanderers 1
SKIPPER-for-the-night Stephen Quigley's own goal settled this dour contest as Bray continued their remarkable league run.
Drogheda suffered a blow shortly before kick-off when left-back Philip Hand had to be withdrawn, with Stephen McCrossan coming in.
A loss of concentration in the home defence resulted in the first chance of the game as Gary Dempsey's quickly taken corner picked out Danny O'Connor, whose header was tipped away by Stephen Trimble.
Bray broke the deadlock on 33 minutes when O'Connor played the ball wide to Daire Doyle and his cross was deflected in off the boot of Quigley despite the efforts of Victor Ekanem to stop the ball on the line.
Drogheda responded with a brilliant move involving Darragh McNamara and Dinny Corcoran before the latter drove a shot just wide.
Dane Massey came close to a second for Bray late on, but Drogheda nearly equalised when McNamara's 25-yard shot was blocked behind by Adam Mitchell and McNamara's corner kick was headed narrowly wide by Alan McNally.
