It's been quite a while since Pat's have enjoyed this feeling in the league. Indeed, the Saints have been halfway around the Word since their last victory -- a 1-0 win over Bray Wanderers on June 24.
Pat's went ahead after only two minutes. Evan McMillan knocked down Anthony Murphy's long throw, allowing Derek Doyle to turn and shoot past Stephen Trimble.
Daryl Kavanagh added the second on 50 minutes after a Stephen Bradley cross.
Drogheda were reduced to ten men 15 minutes later when Dave Rogers was adjudged to have taken down Danny North in the box. North's penalty was saved but he finished off the rebound.
Murphy got the goal his performance deserved in the 81st minute with an angled finish.
