O'Sullivan brace sees off Kildrum

MARK O'SULLIVAN scored twice as Intermediate Cup champions Avondale United made light of the long journey to Donegal to see off Kildrum Tigers.

O'Sullivan netted twice, either side of a Conor Meade header, to see the visitors safely through.

It took Avondale just 10 minutes to edge ahead, O'Sullivan getting on the end of David Spratt's pass to steer the ball to the bottom corner.

As the half wore on, Kildrum emerged from their shell and they had a good chance to equalise five minutes before the break when Oisin McMenamin opted to shoot instead of squaring the ball to Cormac Carlin.

Avondale doubled their lead eight minutes into the second half when Conor Meade headed home an O'Sullivan cross.

O'Sullivan made it three on 69 minutes from close range before Carlin pulled one back for Kildrum Tigers with a sweetly struck free-kick.
