In an emotional week for Irish football, this episode of LOI Weekly is dedicated to Derry City captain Ryan McBride who sadly passed away last Sunday.

Johnny Ward and Daniel McDonnell are joined by Derry fan and broadcaster Kevin McDaid, his ex-Derry colleague Simon Madden, regular opponent Kevin McHugh from Finn Harps and Cork City boss John Caulfield.

Kevin McDaid, who paid tribute to McBride with a poignant piece on Independent.ie during the week which you can read here, recalled a story that summed the Derry man up as a player and a man off the field.

"Roddy had an open training session when he was in charge. We all went down to it so we ended up playing five-a-side against the first team. I was taken out by Ryan McBride and afterwards he was straight over to say he didn't mean it and the ball was there to be won. That was the thing, he wasn't treating us any differently ."

Everyone at LOI Weekly would like to extend our sympathy to all Ryan's family, friends and colleagues.
