DANNY NORTH'S first goals against former club St Patrick's Athletic secured a deserved win for Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds.
North scored in each half to guide the Bit O'Red to their first victory in three games, as the visitors finished with 10 men after the sending-off of James Chambers.
The opener came when Aaron Greene won possession in the middle of the park before feeding North on the edge of the box on 17 minutes. The striker turned inside and let fly a right-foot shot that flew under Rene Gilmartin.
North and the excellent Greene both had efforts on goal as Rovers continued to dominate. Chambers picked up a booking on the stroke of half-time as the Dubliners grew a little frustrated. They also lost 'keeper Gilmartin to injury early in a second half.
Pat's called on Chris Forrester from the bench with 20 minutes left, but were reduced to 10 men shortly after as Chambers dived in on Seamus Conneely and picked up a second yellow card.
Pat's rallied and Forrester latched onto a Paul O'Conor mistake to set up Daryl Kavanagh with 10 minutes left, but he failed to trouble 'keeper Richard Brush.
And North sealed the win by racing on to Eric Odhiambo's pass in the last minute and squeezing the ball under Brendan Clarke.
