The importance of UEFA prize-money for League clubs was again underlined yesterday as the five European participants in the 2015/16 season were each granted €11,750 through UEFA's Financial Fair Play payments redistribution system.

An overall pot to Irish clubs of €59,000 was generated by a redistribution of monies withheld from other clubs that competed in the same Champions League and Europa League competitions and breached Financial Fair Play rules.

The total sum shared by Cork City, Dundalk, St Patrick's Athletic, Shamrock Rovers and UCD is well down on the €156,000 banked from the same source by the four clubs involved in the 2014/15 campaign.

Meanwhile, FAI Cup champions Cork City have announced a three-year partnership agreement with University College Cork and Mardyke Arena that will include front and back jersey sponsorship as well as scholarship opportunities for the club's players.
