McKeown sinks Derry bid

DERRY City manager Declan Devine was left 'flat' as his side lost this decider in controversial circumstances.

Rory Patterson put them ahead 10 minutes from time, but Crusaders equalised on 86 minutes. David Rainey looked to have fouled Gerard Doherty, but Colin Coates' goal stood. Coates gave the Crues the lead in extra-time before Patterson scored his second from the spot.

In the shootout, Crues 'keeper Sean O'Neill kept out Dermot McCaffrey's kick before Gareth McKeown sealed glory.
