Mathews Banking on shels to bounce back

SHELBOURNE will look to make the most of their FAI Ford Cup reprieve when Limerick visit Tolka Park tonight.

The prize for the winners is a home semi-final against St Patrick's Athletic.

This quarter-final is being shoe-horned into the schedule somewhat and both sides will hope to avoid a replay, given their promotion ambitions and the plan to play it on Wednesday night.

Shels -- who slipped up against Monaghan United last Friday -- have a full squad to choose from and Alan Mathews will be hoping for his side to bounce back.

Although Limerick, who beat Mervue on Friday, trail the Reds in the Division One title race, Pat Scully's men have won at Tolka this season and won't fear the trip, but Shels get the vote.
