Martin seals Bohs progression
Bohemians last night moved into the quarter-finals with a single-goal win over Portadown added to last week's 2-1 home leg win.
Midfielder Adam Martin popped up 10 minutes from time to settle the tie. Portadown had their chances, but a couple of goal-line clearances foiled them. Against that, Bohemians should have won much more comfortably. The main culprit in the missed chances stakes was striker Dinny Corcoran.
It simply wasn't Corcoran's night, for the winner came as he watched from the sidelines with the Martin decider hitting the back of the net just three minutes after he was replaced.
Most of the first-half action was squeezed into just 10 minutes, between Corcoran's first miss and big centre-half Ewan McMillan hitting the Portadown post with a wonderful header.
It was touch and go until Martin popped up with that winner and sadly David Miskelly must take a lion's share of the blame as he seemed to loose the flight of the ball.
