THE big guns avoided each other in last night's Ford FAI Cup second-round draw, but it still threw up some interesting encounters.

First Division favourites Limerick travel to Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers, while Derry City host local rivals Finn Harps.

Meanwhile, in Dublin, top intermediate side Crumlin United will take on their neighbours St Patrick's Athletic in a game that should command plenty of interest.

There are two all-Premier Division encounters, with holders Sligo Rovers hosting Monaghan United, and Bray Wanderers entertaining Shelbourne.

A number of the non-league clubs in the draw will travel to top-flight grounds, with Phoenix going to UCD, St Patrick's CY away to Dundalk, and Drumkeen United landing a journey to Bohemians.

A minimum of two non-league teams will progress, however, with Kildrum Tigers meeting Avondale, and Blarney United taking on Malahide United.

Ford FAI Cup second-round draw: Cherry Orchard v Longford; Drogheda v Mayfield; SD Galway v Mervue; UCD v Phoenix; Shamrock Rovers v Limerick; Kildrum Tigers v Avondale; Cork City v Athlone Town; Sligo Rovers v Monaghan; Blarney United v Malahide United; Everton v Waterford United; Dundalk v St Patricks CY; Bray Wanderers v Shelbourne; Crumlin United v St Patrick's Athletic; Derry City v Finn Harps; Bohemians v Drumkeen United; Douglas Hall v Wexford Youths.

Ties will take place week ending May 27.
