LIMERICK FC will play in the First Division of the League of Ireland this year after meeting the conditions set down by the FAI in order to secure a licence, writes Daniel McDonnell.
The Shannonsiders, who remain in dispute with Abbotstown over the association's blocking of last summer's friendly with Barcelona, had to satisfy financial criteria before receiving the green light.
Meanwhile, Galway United, who regained their spot in the Premier Division on appeal, have got around to the business of signing players, with ex-Sligo man Steve Feeney and former Manchester City midfielder Karl Moore joining Stephen Walsh, Gary Curran, Paul Sinnott and Shane Keogh, who Sean Connor has retained from the 2010 squad.
