Kenny signings signal his intent
SHAMROCK ROVERS manager Stephen Kenny was a busy man over the weekend and has completed the signings of Daryl Kavanagh and Killian Brennan in addition to confirming that Billy Dennehy's future is with the Hoops, writes DANIEL McDONNELL
The highly-rated Kavanagh spent last season with St Patrick's Athletic and can operate in either midfield or attack. After a troubled time off the pitch earlier in his career, the 25-year-old has developed into one of the most exciting players in the league.
Set-piece specialist Brennan joins from arch rivals Bohemians. The 27-year-old Drogheda native spent four years at Dalymount Park and won two league titles. He previously worked with Kenny at Derry.
Meanwhile, Dennehy has signed on the dotted line for another year after a fine campaign with the champions.
The wide man also spent time under Kenny at the Brandywell.
KEVIN Kilbane's Euro 2012 fate has been sealed by a back problem that has ruined his season.
The veteran is already surplus to Giovanni Trapattoni's plans with Stephen Ward ahead in the pecking order. He was left out of the squad for the playoff win over Estonia but was hoping to return for Poland.
However, the Hull man -- who has been on loan at Derby -- has failed to fully recover from the back complaint and requires an operation that will rule him out for the rest of the campaign.
