Keltie added to Cork ranks
CORK CITY have signed English midfielder Clark Keltie, WRITES DANIEL McDONNELL.
The 28-year-old spent a brief period on trial with the club last year, but chose to sign for a club in Iceland. He has returned to Leeside for a crack at the Premier Division. Keltie previously had spells with Darlington, Rochdale and Lincoln.
"He is an experienced player and we are delighted to have him here," said Cork boss Thomas Dunne.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that St Patrick's Athletic have won the race to sign highly regarded UCD midfielder Paul Corry. The ex-Belvedere youth had interest from cross-channel, Sligo, and Shamrock Rovers, but will stay in Ireland and complete his degree in Belfield while lining out for Pat's.
Dundalk's new signing Chris Shields said it was 'time to move on' from Bray Wanderers after completing a switch to the Louth club, along with Shane O'Neill.
Shields (21) made over 100 appearances for the Seagulls and hit the headlines two years ago when he scored an own goal in Bray's promotion-relegation play-off with Monaghan that looked to be sending them down -- before playing a part in a dramatic equaliser and then firing home the winner in a penalty shootout.
"I was happy when Sean McCaffrey got in contact with me because Dundalk are a good club and hopefully on the up," said Shields.
