First half goals from Ismahil Akinade and Jake Kelly helped get Bohemians back to winning ways at Dalymount Park last night.Kelly added a third with three minutes remaining.
Keith Long's team had conceded eight goals in their last two league defeats, but an early strike from the in-form Akinade and the brace from Kelly settled their nerves.
Akinade got the opener in the ninth minute, finishing well after a mistake by Killian Cantwell.
Kelly got his first three minutes later, finishing a rebound after Akinade's header from Lorcan Fitzgerald's cross crashed off the crossbar.
The ex-Bray and Dundalk striker, who has scored four times in his last two matches, struck again with three minutes left when he won and scored a penalty.
Galway played the last half-hour with 10 men after Enda Curran's red card. To make matters worse, substitute Marc Ludden was knocked unconscious and taken off on a spinal board after a lengthy delay, with Stephen Walsh having had to go off earlier with a broken rib.
