Galway United have parted company with manager Tommy Dunne
Galway United have parted company with manager Tommy Dunne in the aftermath of Tuesday night's 5-3 defeat at the hands of Cork City.
The Dubliner leaves the Connacht club after just under three years in charge - a spell where he brought the reformed operation back to the Premier Division.
They secured promotion in his first campaign after coming through the playoffs.
Dunne saved them from the drop last year but had come under pressure after a disappointing run of results saw the Tribesmen drop to ninth in the table.
It's understood that discussions with the club hierarchy led to an agreement that the 44-year-old would depart his role.
