In the 90 minutes of regulation time at Turner’s Cross, the sides had shared two goals with neither overly impressing.

St Pat’s had had the better of the first half, with Ian Bermingham’s marauding runs down the left a key feature of their play. He flashed a shot across goal in the 26th minute.

Kevin O’Connor had the best chance for City.

After James Chambers and Jamie McGrath had chances for Pat’s early in the second half, Jack Bayly put them ahead on the hour when he met Bermingham’s cross. The lead would only last four minutes, though, as Liam Kearney equalised for Cork when he netted the rebound after Rob Lehane hit the post.
