Former Manchester United star applies for Derry City manager's job
FORMER Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has applied to become the new manager of Derry City.
The 46-year-old is keen to break into management in this part of the world and views Derry as a route into English football.
Kanchelskis submitted an application to the Candystripes over the weekend. His last job was in Latvia, with FC Jurmala, a position he left 11 months ago.
Derry are waiting until the end of the season to make a permanent appointment with Paul Hegarty in temporary control following the departure of Peter Hutton. Hegarty has started well and is in pole position to nab the role on a full-time basis.
