O'Conor headed from close range to deny the champions in the 90th minute just as Stephen Kenny's men looked like they were going to secure their sixth win in six games so far this season.

Richie Towell opened the scoring for Dundalk in the first half with a fine 25-yard volley and although Dundalk had plenty of the ball, Limerick held out until O'Conor's late show.

Limerick: O'Donnell, Harding, Williams, Price, O'Conor, Turner, Duggan (c), Clarke, Russell, O'Connor, Hughes

Dundalk: Rogers, Gannon, Gartland, Boyle (c), Shields, Horgan, McMillan, Finn, Massey, Towell, Meenan
