Drogheda complete 'fantastic signing' of Ireland international Keith Treacy
Keith Treacy joins the growing number of Irish internationals in the Airtricity League after signing for Dorgheda United.
The 26-year-old winger, has six caps for Ireland, joins the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division club having most recently played for Barnsley until his contract was cancelled by mutual consent in January.
Treacy took time out since after getting married and Drogheda manager Johnny McDonnell couldn't contain his delight with the high-profile signing.
“Keith is a fantastic signing for the club,” he said. “I’ve been tracking him for a while as he took the best part of a year out of the game to get married.
“I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he said he wasn’t going back to England so I invited him to train with us.
"He was brilliant to deal with in terms of our finances and we are delighted to have him on board. His quality has stood out already in training and I think it has given the rest of the squad a big lift.”
Drogheda also announced the signing of Roddy Collins Jr.
