Cork City loan star Ryan Delaney is being monitored by Celtic.

The Wexford man is on loan with the runaway League of Ireland leaders from Championship side Burton Albion and the Leesiders are keen to sign the 20-year-old on a permanent basis.

But his performances for Cork have attracted the attention of other clubs in the UK and it's understood Celtic are on that list.

Cork will lose key men Sean Maguire and Kevin O'Connor to Preston in July and are anxious to keep hold of Delaney. And it's still possible that he will spend the rest of the campaign on Leeside, with his short-term future to be resolved before the start of July.

Meanwhile, former Cork loanee Eoghan O'Connell has left Celtic to join League One side Bury.

Paul O'Connell's cousin did well with Cork at the start of 2016 and went back to Celtic, where he featured in the early stages of their European run.

However, he found opportunities limited under Brendan Rodgers and a spell with Walsall preceded a permanent move south on a three-year deal.
