Callaghan takes up Bohemians reins

FORMER Athlone, Longford and UCD manager Aaron Callaghan has been named as Pat Fenlon's replacement at Bohemians.

The 45-year-old, who was most recently first-team coach with St Patrick's Athletic, will take up his new position next week.

Callaghan, had a stint cross-channel as a player with Stoke City, Oldham Athletic, Crewe Alexandra and Preston North End. In that period, he was capped for Ireland at U-21 level.

Elsewhere, Paul Cook has confirmed that he will remain on as Sligo Rovers manager despite an approach from Derry City.

"Despite reports to the contrary, I am committed to Sligo Rovers," Cook said. "I would like to thank Derry City for their interest."
