Bray extend unbeaten run to nine after overcoming Galway
Galway United 0 Bray Wanderers 2
After last weekend’s shock win over leaders Dundalk, Bray Wanderers made the most of some sloppy play from the home side to stretch their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions.
United, who have already beaten Bray twice this season, were bettered by goals at the end of each half from Dylan Connolly and Chris Lyons.
In the early stages United looked bright and could have opened the scoring from a Marc Ludden header after he was picked out well by Colm Horgan, but his effort came back off the post.
But it was Bray who took the lead as Connolly pounced on a loose touch from Stephen Folan to give Bray a 1-0 lead at the interval.
Stephen Walsh twice came close with headers for the home side in the third quarter, but Bray defended their lead solidly.
Top scorer Vinny Faherty also came close for United 13 minutes from time, but Bray made sure of the points when Lyons scored.
