The FAI have confirmed that Dundalk defender Andy Boyle was shown the yellow card twice during the Lilywhites' Premier League 5-2 win over UCD on Monday without being sent off.

Boyle was booked by referee Jim McKell in the 51st minute and then accrued a second caution with 15 minutes left after conceding a penalty.

The matter is now being investigated by the FAI Disciplinary Committee and the FAI Elite Referees Committee.

Boyle, a key player, is likely to be suspended for Dundalk's crucial league meeting with defending champions St Patrick's Athletic on Friday week.
