Bolger on double in rout
Dundalk 6 Galway United 1
Galway's off-field problems have been well documented, and it looks just as bleak for them on the pitch on the evidence of this heavy defeat at Oriel Park last night, their 15th reverse on the bounce.
Greg Bolger helped himself to a brace -- his first goals for Dundalk -- as Ian Foster's side dominated throughout.
The former UCD man grabbed his first in the 20th minute, smashing Mark Quigley's lay-off past Greg Fleming with the aid of a wicked deflection.
The second arrived in the 44th minute when Bolger lifted the ball over Fleming. Quigley quickly got in on the act, scoring from 12 yards.
There was no let-up in the second half.
Keith Ward guided home the fourth in the 47th minute before Marc Griffin hit his fifth of the campaign with a downward header.
Gary Kelly hit a consolation before substitute Johnny Breen made it 6-1 in the 70th minute.
