Both teams came into last night's game on the back of 4-0 drubbings and nerves played a major part in what was a dour encounter in Belfield.
A recurring theme of Bohemians' season has been their inability to make their dominance count on the scoreboard and that was no different against UCD.
Try as they might, Owen Heary's side continue to lack a real cutting edge in the final third which sees them still lingering uncomfortably just above the relegation zone.
Bohs dominated the first half, but never really threatened to break the deadlock.
Derek Pender and Eoin Wearen came closest in a half that was soured by a serious-looking injury to former UCD player Anto Murphy.
The full-back was stretchered off shortly the break with his leg in a brace and taken straight to hospital after he had landed awkwardly.
Robbie Benson tested Dean Delaney with a cleverly worked free kick on the stroke of half-time, but that was the best chance the students could muster.
Paddy Kavanagh's miss inside the opening minute of the restart typified Bohs' struggles in front of goal.
Dinny Corcoran and Roberto Lopes both went close for the visitors, while Niall Corbet pulled off a great save from an Aidan Price header as UCD continued to sit back.
