Bet you should have done

Shamrock Rovers to beat

Sligo Rovers 5/2

Sligo have deservedly enjoyed their celebrations after winning a first league title in 35 years -- so much so that, at 5/2, their opponents last night were an extremely generous offer. The Bit O'Red were beaten by Drogheda United last week, days after sealing the title, and had understandably taken their foot off the gas since their triumph.

Shamrock Rovers had a poor season, yet with Gary Twigg, playing his final game for the club, they were always going to carry a threat. Twigg's two goals won the game, and this bet, but failed to dampen the home celebrations.
