Kelly brace leaves Seagulls flying high
A Jake Kelly double and a Shane O'Neill strike secured Bray Wanderers their passage into the fifth round of the FAI Ford Cup -- despite Ciaran Kilduff scoring two late goals for the home side.
In front of 376 fans, Bray took the lead after 10 minutes as O'Neill finished well past Ger Barron from 12 yards after a Gary Dempsey cross, and just before half-time Barron saved brilliantly from a Dean Zambra header to keep the deficit to one.
Six minutes after half-time, however, the much hungrier Bray extended their lead. Man of the match Jake Kelly brilliantly lobbed Barron from the corner of the box after a pass from O'Neill.
UCD manager Martin Russell then went three at the back but just three minutes later, Bray made it 3-0 as Dempsey found David Webster, whose cross went straight across the UCD defence and Jake Kelly had oceans of space to finish into the bottom corner.
UCD gave themselves hope seven minutes from time when Kilduff turned Graham Rusk's flick past Gregg and two minutes later the Students got another, as Kilduff made no mistake from two yards out after a Chris Mulhall cross. But the fightback ended there and Bray advance to the next round.
