'Keeper Morales goes on the attack
USUALLY when a footballer tries to emulate the great Diego Maradona, it's something to be admired and respected.
However, a goalkeeper from Honduras was more interested in re-enacting one of Maradona's uglier moments last weekend when he fired an air gun at a journalist. And the reason? He didn't like the journalist's criticism.
Donaldo Morales, who lines out for Motagua in the Honduran top flight and has been capped 31 times, turned up for training and fired the air gun at reporter Saul Carranza, hitting him twice.
Carranza was interviewing one of Morales' team-mates, Jorge Claros, at the time and the midfielder was also hit, although neither man was seriously injured. Carranza has decided not to press charges, although he has reportedly refused to accept an apology.
