The FAI have confirmed that Ireland will play Oman in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium on September 3.

Martin O'Neill's side will use the game as warm-up for the opening Euro 2016 qualifier with Georgia on September 7.

Ireland have recent experience of Oman with Giovanni Trapattoni in charge for a 4-1 victory at Craven Cottage in September 2012, a game that also filled out a double header as it came off the back of a World Cup qualifying win in Kazakhstan.
