This Ireland fan certainly wasn't expecting to meet his hero.

Andrew Whelan from Stadbally in County Laois was in the news at the end of the transfer window when it came to light that his Christmas present - a trip to Norwich to watch his hero Robbie Brady in action - was ruined after the Ireland star moved to Premier League Burnley.

"Andrew was very upset because he knows he won't be seeing Robbie playing when he goes over for the match on Saturday," his mother Samantha told the Irish Daily Star at the time.

"He's absolutely devastated he won't get to see him. He has been following him for the last year. He has the jersey and all. This year all he wanted from Santy was to go and see Robbie playing."

Thanks to the FAI and Three, Whelan will do a lot better than just watch Brady play. In this heartwarming video, the Burnley star surprises his biggest fan with a jersey, as well as the chance to be the team mascot for tomorrow night's friendly against Iceland.

The best part of the video is the awestruck reaction on Andrew's face as he finally meets his favourite player.
