Less than two minutes into tonight's World Cup qualifier against Moldova, Ireland - buoyed by Wales dropping two points at home to Georgia earlier today - took the lead following a brilliantly worked goal.

Wes Hoolahan, who was promoted to the starting line-up after Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady were ruled out, slid the ball perfectly between two Moldova defenders, freeing Shane Long in front of goal.

The Southampton striker has yet to register a goal for his club this season, but still had the composure to roll the ball perfectly into the corner and give Ireland the lead.

Take a look at the goal here, and indulge in Ireland actually playing some slick football.
