How do we know?

It isn't the fact that Ireland played against Oman on Wednesday and have their first World Cup qualifier in Belgrade against Serbia on Monday night - no, we know international football has returned because Roy Keane is once again sitting in press conferences, getting into immensely enjoyable battles with journalists.

They always follow a similar pattern - a journalist's question rubs Keane the wrong way, and he stares that imposing stare of his as he relentlessly peppers his press conference adversary with queries as to why they chose that line of questioning.

Today, the topic was James McCarthy. The Ireland assistant was asked for his thoughts on the midfielder 'falling out' of Everton manager Ronald Koeman's plans.

Keane disagreed, and the rest made for brilliant viewing.
