Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Seamus Coleman will be out 'several weeks' with an ankle injury.

The Republic of Ireland international is now a major doubt for Ireland's opening World Cup qualifier against Serbia on September 5 in Belgrade.

Speaking ahead of their game with Tottenham today at Goodison Park, Koeman confirmed that Romelu Lukaku wouldn't start and that Coleman was facing a period on the sidelines.

“We’re disappointed Romelu can’t start today and Seamus will be out for several weeks," he said.

Coleman was pictured wearing a protective boot as he entered Goodison this afternoon.
