Robbie Keane's international retirement brings to a close the career of Ireland's greatest goalscorer but fans will be hoping that the man picked to wear the striker's coveted jersey will be able to live up to his legacy.
The UEFA website has confirmed that Robbie Brady, whose headed winner booked Ireland's last 16 place at Euro 2016, will wear the number 10 shirt against Serbia in Belgrade tonight.
However, adverse weather conditions in Serbia could see Ireland's first World Cup qualifier played tomorrow afternoon, so Brady will have to wait until a 6.15pm pitch inspection to discover if he will be able to don the famous jersey for the first time tonight.
Brady has emerged as one of Ireland's best performers in the last 12 months, and if the game does go ahead, the Boys in Green will be expecting a big performance from the Norwich midfielder.
