Jeff Hendrick is desperate to turn top form for Ireland into Premier League success after his move to Burnley.
A star performer in France, Hendrick has had a whirlwind few days and is now ready to focus on the task at hand as Ireland take on Serbia in Belgrade tomorrow night in their first World Cup qualifier.
"I'm delighted I got the move. I was waiting for a few weeks to get it done. After the summer I had, I wanted a crack at the Premier League. Now, my main focus is the game tomorrow night.
"The summer was what I dreamed of as a kid, to play in a tournament like that. I've got to get back to hard work. Now I've got a new club, I need to work harder as well. It's exciting times but I've got to focus on the game.
"I can take confidence from the summer but it's wiped clean a little bit because it's a new group, a new challenge.
"I will take the confidence in and try and perform to do better.
Ireland No. 2 Roy Keane claimed that Hendrick now needs to add more goals to his arsenal and he was happy to accept the advice.
"I accept it, of course," he said. "Going into games I want to do my best. I do want to score goals and it's something I'm working on so hopefully I can get more.
