The FAI have paid tribute to the late Jim O'Shea, who passed away yesterday.

The father of Republic of Ireland international John, Jim was involved very closely with Ferrybank AFC in Waterford since the 1970s, serving both as Chairman of the club and as Chairman of the schoolboys/girls section in that time.

Speaking today, FAI CEO John Delaney said, “We are very sorry to hear of Jim’s death. He was a gentleman, a football man, and a great influence on John’s career. He will be missed by everyone in the football community in the South-East.

"We intend to honour his memory before the FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Austria in June."
