"Ireland has a special place with me" - Jack Grealish declares for England
It has been confirmed that Jack Grealish has shunned Ireland and has decided to pledge his international future with England.
Grealish, who has represented Ireland at a number of underage levels, may be named in Roy Hodgson's squad for next months Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania on Thursday.
The Birmingham-born playmaker, who qualifies for Ireland through his grandparents, has been in impressive form for the Villains in 2015 and has become a vital asset for manager Tim Sherwood.
With England already assured of a place in France next summer, Hodgson is expected to examine his options in the coming games and will give Grealish his chance.
The news will come as a big blow to Martin O'Neill who has been in contact with the player and his father in the hopes of persuading him to play with the boys in green.

The circus around Jack Grealish is over. He has made his choice and good luck. Ireland has gained from the reverse happening many times— Gareth (@garethpenrose) September 28, 2015
Jack Grealish opts to play for England and therefore retire from International Football. Can't blame him, he is English after all.— Laurence Kinlan (@laurencekinlan) September 28, 2015
I've been reliably informed that Jack Grealish has elected to play for England because it makes more "commercial sense" to do so. Great— Luke Edwards (@LukeEdwardsTele) September 28, 2015
