Encouraging news for Martin O'Neill after Seamus Coleman reaction pleases Martinez
Roberto Martinez has delivered encouraging news for Martin O'Neill by reporting that Seamus Coleman has reacted well to a hamstring injury he sustained at the weekend - but the Everton boss is waiting on scan results to confirm good news.
The Donegal native pulled up towards the end of his side's defeat of Premier League champions Chelsea and that set the alarm bells ringing in Ireland ahead of next month's crunch Euro 2016 double-header with Germany and Poland.
Martinez was presented with a double headache as Mo Besic also damaged his hamstring in that game, but he says that Coleman feels better than his colleague.
"We have had a really good 48-hour period," said Martinez. "For Seamus in particular it has been a really good reaction.
"But obviously we will get a lot more information from the scans. I don't think it looks as bad as we feared but we'll get more information as the week goes on."
