Crumlin United have proven that anything LA Galaxy can do, the Dublin club can do better.

Yesterday, Keane's current club Galaxy took out a front page advertisement in the Irish Times paying tribute to Ireland's record goal scorer. The ad contained a picture of Keane with simple message from LA Galaxy reading: “Congratulations Keano! The LA Galaxy would like to congratulate Robbie Keane for all of his accomplishments in his remarkable 18-year career with the Republic of Ireland.”

The ad generated a big response, with fans taking to social media to hail LA Galaxy for their thoughtful message.

But Crumlin United have gone one better.

The south Dublin club - where Robbie Keane played most of his schoolboy football - took out an ad in Ireland's biggest selling newspaper, the Irish Independent, with a picture of Keane and a message that reads: "@LA Galaxy. He ended with you, but he started with us #crumlinunited."

The ad, on page three of today's Irish Independent, included a Crumlin crest and a line at the bottom saying: "Thanks for the memories Robbie."

Well played Crumlin.
