Ireland U-21 midfielder Jack Byrne is enjoying being out of his comfort zone with Dutch club SC Cambuur.
"I'm back from injury and played against PSV last week," said the Dubliner, sent on a season-long loan by Manchester City after agreeing a four-year contract extension.
"Playing in Holland is out of my comfort zone but I'm really enjoying it so far. Hopefully I can go back to Manchester City a better player.
"They approach things completely different over there compared to Ireland and England. I'm sure the Dutch would love to have some of our Irish fighting spirit, though."
The 19-year-old will return to the Ireland team for tomorrow's U-21 UEFA qualifier against Lithuania in Waterford after injury kept him out of last month's win in Andorra.
Manager Noel King yesterday drafted Kenny McEvoy and Harry Charsley into the squad for injured pair Reece Grego-Cox and Sam Byrne.
